BusView 5 Revision History
Revision 5.20 (January 2008)
New Features
- Support for Windows Vista. Improved support for 64-bit Windows XP.
- PCIe: Improved packet distribution view.
- Vanguard API: Improved speed for "binary" data type, e.g. used for trace download.
Important Bug-fixes
- PCIe: Voltage- and temperature measurements failed in some XMC configurations.
- PCIe: Switching view while preprocessing trace data could make BusView crash.
- PCIe: Protcol Checker could crash simulator.
Revision 5.12 (March 2007)
Important Bug-fixes
- PCIe: Lane initialization issues resulting in "dead" lanes (Observed as CRC errors in trace).
- BusView crash when host exerciser enabled and connecting to "real" HW.
Revision 5.11 (February 2007)
New Features
- PCIe: Enhanced IPMI logger with Advanced decoding (Vanguard Express AMC)
- PCIe: Enhancement in link initialization when using external power
- PCIe: Trace preprocessing "abort" functionality added (select "Halt Analyzer" to abort)
- VME/PCI/PCI-X: Added functions for Vanguard API
- "Help\Send Problem Report" command added
- Host Exerciser "Stand Alone" application - no authorization required
Important Bug-fixes
- Several errors in documentation for API and statistics
- PCIe: Trace Data View did not display read packets when sampling with store qualifier
- PCIe: Bugs in statistics utilization and transfer rate
- PCIe: The "LinkType" field of the default PCIe7 event of type link has been changed to "All" as default
- PCIe: The above event has also got the "PChkErr" field inserted in the default template. This makes it easy to trigger on a protocol error by just setting the "PChkErr" field to "Err"
- PCIe: Partially saved traces did not show any packets in lane-view
- PCIe: Better packet separation in trace when something wrong in packet headers
- PCIe: Lane reversal can now be set independent in up- and down direction in the hardware options link settings tab
- Vanguard API: Memory issue when running certain commands excessively over a long period of time
- Vanguard API: The vanguard_selftest command sometimes hung forever
Revision 5.10 (November 2006)

- Vanguard API for VME and PCI/PCI-X
- Support for Vanguard Express AMC and XMC
- IPMI-logger on Vanguard Express AMC
- Host Exerciser: New Retrain Link command which will set the "Retrain Link"-bit in the link control register and make the system generate a set of training sequences
- PCIe: Trace verification checking CRC errors and finding retransmission of TLP-packets
Important Bug-fixes
- VME Exerciser: Interrupt request vector was not cleared when new value was set
- VME Exerciser: Interrupt acknowledge command could previously halt the Vanguard
- PCIe Analyzer: Trace preprocessing sometimes failed when running full trace
- PCIe Analyzer: Lane Polarity Reversal manual setting did not work
- PCIe Analyzer: Trace Data View did not display read packets when sampling with store qualifier
- PCIe Statistics: First sample of all statistics charts was wrong
- PCIe Statistics: Link Utilization and Transfer Rate showed wrong values when counting in both directions
- Host Exerciser: Exerciser hung when running Local Load/Save commands
- Host Exerciser: Exerciser hung when running Load/Save commands

First major releaseBusView 4 Revision History
Revision 4.50
New Features
- Simultaneous graphical- and text view in sequencer.
- Dockable windows in tabbed view.
Important Bug-fixes
- VME IACK cycle bug fix: The VME analyzer now samples IACK cycles independent of the value on the AM code lines in state mode. In the previous version of BusView some IACK cycles did not show up in the trace buffer e.g. with AM code 00h

Revision 4.32.001 (patch only)
New Features
- None. Bug-fix only.
Important Bug-fixes
- Communication: This patch fixes a version compatibility issue for the Vanguard USB device driver. The problem arises on PCs that have run an installation of the Jungo WinDriver device driver package with version later than 6.2.3 and earlier than 8.0.0. The symptom of this bug is that BusView can't find any Vanguard USB devices.
